I have the privilege of welcoming you on behalf of STEP Cyprus to our branch. As one of the founding members of the Cyprus branch, which was brought into being on 31 October 2003, and which today numbers over 160 professionals, I am especially proud that STEP has managed to bring together, for the first time, local trust practitioners to exchange ideas and experiences.
 
STEP Cyprus has far-reaching aims and it is actively involved in raising the profile of the trust concept in Cyprus.

Over the last few years, the popularity of trusts in Cyprus has increased tremendously, a development that has also elevated the importance of STEP’s local branch. In addition to an increase in demand for Cyprus International Trusts, we are also witnessing many non-Cyprus trusts being redomiciled into Cyprus. STEP Cyprus plays a pivotal role in the better understanding of trusts and their legal, tax and other implications by Cyprus professionals and legislators alike and it is currently heavily involved in regulatory and legislative efforts to further fine tune and modernize local trusts.
 
Moreover, the geographical position of the island has enabled STEP Cyprus to act as a regional branch bridge and a centre for regional and well as international trust conferences and events.
